Overview

Focus Fence is a minimalist app launcher and location-based focus app for iPhone and iPad. This policy describes how it handles your information.

Data Collection

Focus Fence does not operate a server or account database for your rules. Configuration is stored on your device, with optional iCloud setup syncing described below.

Specifically:

• Your location is used on your device to activate Focus Fence zones and request local weather when those features are enabled
• Saved Focus Fence locations are sent to your iCloud account only when you choose to share your setup
• Widget background photos you select are stored on your device
• We do not access your contacts
• We do not display advertisements
• We do not share any data with third parties for marketing purposes

Anonymous Usage Analytics

Focus Fence uses TelemetryDeck to collect fully anonymous usage statistics that help us understand which features are used and improve the app. This data:

• Contains no personal information and cannot be linked to you
• Includes only anonymous event counts (e.g., "a shortcut was created", "the paywall was shown")
• Is never used for tracking or advertising
• Is processed in accordance with TelemetryDeck's privacy-first approach (https://telemetrydeck.com/privacy)

Data Storage

Shortcuts, widget settings, Screen Time app selections, and focus-session history are stored locally using Apple's built-in storage mechanisms.

Optional app-to-website associations, including custom website links, are stored on the device where you create them. They are not included in iCloud setup syncing or sent to our analytics service. Built-in website suggestions come from a catalog bundled with the app.

Optional Sync Focus Fence setup shares mode names, saved locations and notes, schedules, typed website lists, and protection settings through Apple's iCloud key-value storage. Sync is off by default. It uses the iCloud account signed in on each device and does not send this setup to a Focus Fence-operated server.

Screen Time app/category selections, permissions, location enablement, session history, emergency bypasses, and purchase information are not included in this shared setup. Turning sync off keeps a separate local copy and stops this device from reading or writing the shared setup. It does not delete the existing copy in iCloud or copies on other devices. Uninstalling the app does not necessarily delete its iCloud data.

Third-Party Services

Focus Fence uses TelemetryDeck for usage analytics as described above. Apple provides iCloud setup syncing, Screen Time controls, App Store purchases and search, maps, and weather services. These services are subject to Apple's privacy policies. Focus Fence does not run a separate licensing server; purchases are verified through Apple's StoreKit.

Children's Privacy

Focus Fence does not knowingly collect any information from children under 13 years of age.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected in the "Last Updated" date above.
