Your places Your rules Automatic blocking

Location-based blocking

Focus starts when you arrive.

Create a boundary around work, school, the gym, or home. Your blocking rules turn on when you enter and stop applying when you leave. Add a schedule if you only need them during certain hours.

How it works

Set it and forget it.

1. Choose a place

Find a location on the map and adjust the radius to fit your office, campus, gym, or home.

2. Choose what to block

Select distracting apps and websites, or allow only the essentials while that fence is active.

3. Let it turn on for you

Your location activates the rule. Add a schedule for work hours, study time, or your evening routine.

Grant Screen Time and location access during setup. Need a quick exception? Emergency Unblock gives you temporary access.

Portrait of Dean, founder of Focus Fence

From the founder

hey, it’s Dean.

the guy who made focus fence.

i built this app because my phone had quietly become the boss of my day. one tap on a notification and twenty minutes were gone — and that happened dozens of times a day.

i tried going full dumb-phone, and i tried blockers that lock everything down. both felt like punishment. what i wanted was something calmer: block distractions where i want to focus, while keeping the apps i actually need available.

so i built focus fence for myself. location rules block the distracting stuff automatically when i walk into the places where i want to be present — class, the gym, home. the launcher widget also keeps my essentials one tap away.

it worked well enough that friends wanted it too, so i polished it up and put it on the app store.

i still read every email myself. if something is confusing, broken, or you have an idea, write to hello@getfocusphone.com — you’ll get a reply from an actual human (me).
